Barack Obama: man of the people?

The Obamas arrived in Martha's Vineyard yesterday aboard Marine One. The vineyard is the playground of some of the world's richest people--people who have worked hard, achieved success, and accumulated unimaginable wealth in the free market. The Obamas, themselves free market millionaires, will be renting a luxurious 28 acre farm on the island for a week at the low low rate of $50,000/week. They'll be joined by many family friends, including the family physician from Chicago and his sister Maya. Maybe he'll invite elitist Harvard college professor and personal friend Henry Louis Gates over for some $100/lb kobe beef and a few cold ones. One can only wonder how a man who has achieved such great power and wealth in a free market economy could advocate the nationalization of almost every industry in America. Had Ronald Reagan nationalized the publishing business in the 1980s, Barack would still be community organizing in the slums of Chicago instead of frolicking with the rich and famous on the beaches of Martha's Vineyard. Lucky for the Obamas and despite Barack's best efforts, America is still the land of opportunity.
